Botanical Garden of the Southern Federal University

The Botanical Garden of the Southern Federal University in Rostov-on-Don was opened in 1927 and is the first institution of its kind in the treeless regions of southern Russia. Today, its territory covers more than 160.5 hectares. Special attention should be paid to the greenhouse with a collection of tropical and subtropical plants numbering about 1600 species and forms.

Margaret Chernova's house is located at Bolshaya Sadovaya Street, 27/47 in Rostov-on-Don. The building, built in 1899 by architect N.A. Dорошенко, was used for receptions and home concerts. Notable performances included Feodor Chaliapin's performance in 1903. The mansion is associated with actress Margaret Chernova, who owned it.
Brothers Martyn House

Martyn Brothers House located at Rostov Oblast, Rostov-on-Don city, Bolshaya Sadovaya Street, 125/69 is a XIX century architectural monument. Built in 1893 by architect N.M. Sokolov, it combines Russian and German architectural traditions with pseudo-gothic elements. Since 2009, the building serves as a branch of M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve named "Sholokhov Center". The object is included in the federal level cultural heritage реестр.
City Hall

The Building of City Hall in Rostov-on-Don located at Bolshaya Sadovaya Street, 47 was built in 1899 according to architect A.N.Pomerantsev's project. It is one of the most majestic buildings in the city, distinguished by rich architectural decor that has no analogues in southern Russia. Initially it housed the city council and the administration; later it became the administrative center of Rostov-on-Don.
Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Rostov-on-Don is located at Stanislavskogo Street, 58. The cathedral building was constructed in 1854 by architect Konstantin Ton on the site of an earlier wooden church and chapel with the same name. After a fire in 1791, a new church was built here, and in 1795, the temple was restored using funds from local merchants. Today, the cathedral is a regional cultural heritage site.
One Sky Ferris Wheel

The Ferris wheel "One Sky" is located on the Theatre Square in Rostov-on-Don. It is a high structure 65 meters tall with 30 closed cabins that can accommodate up to 180 people simultaneously. The attraction offers panoramic views up to 25 kilometers and was opened in August 2016 in October Revolution Park.
North-Caucasus Railway Technical Museum

The North-Caucasus Railways' Museum of Railway Technology is located in Rostov-on-Don at Kazachy Pereulok, 44B. It opened on August 1, 2003 and is a branch of the Road Museum of History. The exhibition includes over 50 unique exhibits such as steam locomotives, diesel-electric locomotives, electric locomotives, electric trains, passenger and freight cars. For visitors there are organized excursions with the opportunity to inspect retro-trains around the city.

The Museum of Russian-Armenian Friendship is located in the historical mansion of merchant M. Iskidarov built by architect S.K. Laskanov in 1899-1900. It first opened in 1972 at Surb Khach Monastery but since 2011 it has been situated at Freedom Square, 14/2. The exhibition includes materials on culture, быта Don Armenians and relations between Rostov and Nakhichevan-on-the-Don. It is a department of the Rostov Oblast Regional Museum of Local Lore.
Don River Embankment

The Don River Embankment in Rostov-on-Don stretches for two kilometers along the right bank of the Don River. Previously there was a large river port here, but after the war, the embankment was renovated into a promenade area with alleys, flower beds, monuments and fountains. Today it is named after Admiral Feodor Ushakov and considered the main attraction of the city.

Lebedevsky Culture and Rest Park in Rostov-on-Don opened on May 1, 2018. It is located near the "Rostov-Arena" stadium on the site of the former city beach. The park has extensive sports areas totaling 13,600 sq.m, children's playgrounds covering 4,600 sq.m and bicycle paths measuring 4,400 sq.m. Additionally, there are 502 trees, 2,922 shrubs and 1,999 perennial plants planted here.

The monument to the 1st Army "Tachanka-Rostovchanka" is located on East Avenue in Rostov-on-Don. The sculpture was created by sculptors V. Batay, A. Kosolapov, and A. Sknarin with participation of architect P. Ibalkov. It welcomes visitors from Bataisk side and serves as a symbol of liberation of Rostov from White Guard troops in 1920. This monument has become a city calling card.

Paramonovsky Granaries in Rostov-on-Don are a complex of grain storage facilities from the 19th century, listed as federal cultural heritage site. The buildings were designed to cool down due to the nearby spring water flowing by. Legend connects these structures with Elpidifor Paramonov, a well-known Rostov grain industrialist. Today, through the ruins of the granaries passes a pipeline of that very spring water creating a unique microclimate for the area.
Gorky Park

Maxim Gorky Culture and Rest Park in Rostov-on-Don is the oldest city park founded in 1813. Previously it was called City Garden. Today you can see rotunda and seven picturesque fountains: "Eastern", "Grotto", "Western", "Goldfish", "Lighthouse", "Neptune" and "Herons". The total area of the park is 11 hectares.

Pokrovsky Square is located on Bolshaya Sadovaya Street in Rostov-on-Don. Its main attraction is Pokrovsky Church, whose history is linked to Saint Anna Fortress founded in 1735. In 1909, Novopokrovskaya Church was consecrated; its construction began in 1897 with funds from merchant G.G. Pustovoytov. A monument to Empress Elizabeth Pyotrovna stands before the church, unveiled in 2007.

It was opened in 1935 and has since become an important cultural hub for the region. Currently, nine creative collectives are based here, and the philharmonic organizes significant events such as festivals "Don Musical Spring," "World to Caucasus" and "Sholokhov Spring." Since 1963, the building has hosted numerous concerts and cultural events.

The theater continues the traditions of Rostov's Theater of Musical Comedy.

The circus has a rich history that began long before the construction of the new building. Initially, the circus was located on the site of the current "Intourist" hotel. Its capacity is 1490 seats, which for many years made it the largest European circus.

Founded in 1923, it covers an area of 56.97 hectares and includes 10 all-season exhibitions such as Elephant House, Rhinoceros Enclosure, Aquarium, and Gallery "Animals of Africa". More than 7,500 animals of rarest species from all continents live here, including 269 listed in the International Red Book, 34 in the Russian Red Book, and 14 in the regional red book category of the Rostov region.

The Rostov Regional Museum of Fine Arts is located at Pushkinskaya Street, 115 in Rostov-on-Don. Founded in 1938, it is one of the oldest art museums in southern Russia. The collection includes over 6000 exhibits from various forms of art, including painting, graphics, sculpture and decorative applied arts. The permanent exhibition introduces visitors to the history of Russian and Western European art, from ancient Russian times to the present day. In 2010, the museum was recognized internationally as a laureate of the "Changing Museum in a Changing World" competition.

The Rostov Regional Museum of Local Lore traces its history back to 1910. In four city buildings it presents eight major exhibitions covering the entire history and culture of the Don region. The museum's collection includes over 375,000 exhibits making it the largest in the Southern Federal District. Among the most valuable items is the hall "Treasures of the Steppe Lands" showcasing ancient gold artifacts of local peoples. The total area of the museum premises amounts to approximately 4,954 sq. m.

Rostov-on-Don Academic Youth Theatre is located at Freedom Square, 3. The history of the building dates back to the opening of Nakhichevan City Theatre on December 16, 1899. Famous directors such as A. Khaykin, Yu. Yeremin, V. Gvozdkov and V. Chigishev worked here. Today, the theatre's ensemble consists of 42 artists, seven of whom are honored artists of Russia.
Staro-Pokrovsky Cathedral

The Old Покровsky Church is located on Bolshaya Sadovaya Street in Rostov-on-Don. Its history begins with a wooden church of Pokrov Presvyatoy Bogoroditsy, moved here in 1761 from Saint Anna Fortress. The current stone building of the temple was built in 2007 on the site of the previous one, destroyed in the 1930s. This place is associated with the development of the historical core of the city around the fortress of Archbishop Dmitry of Rostov.

DGTU Student Park named after L.V. Krasnichenko is located in Rostov-on-Don on Gagarin Square. Established by city students in 1910 under the name "Andreevskaya Grove". Since 2008 it bears the name of Leonid Krasnichenko. It features sports zones with fields, football pitch and swimming pool, as well as a memorial monument to teachers, staff and students of Rostov Mechanical Institute who participated in World War II.

Trading House G.G. Pustovoytova

Gulin, stands out with elements of rational modernism and for a long time was one of the tallest structures in the city. Originally used as a trading house, later it housed hotels "Central" and "London".

Pushkinskaya Street in Rostov-on-Don is famous for a monument to Alexander Pushkin installed in 1959 by sculptor G. Schulz. Its special charm is enhanced by "Pushkin's balls" by A.A. Sknarin and old mansions with distinctive architecture. In the early 20th century, it was considered the second most important street after Bolshaya Sadovaya.
Serafim Sarovsky Monastery

The consecration took place on September 14, 2004 after its restoration. It belongs to the South-Western deanery of the Rostov-on-Don diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Prepoloveniia Piatidesyatniczy Cathedral

Prepoloveniia Pentikostsi Cathedral in Rostov-on-Don is located at Vsesoyuznaya Street, 165. Construction was completed in 1829 after residents of Nizhne-Gnilovskaya stanitsa obtained permission to build a stone church in 1820. By 1910, the cathedral had three altars. After revolutionary events, the building was first used as a cinema and then as a film rental warehouse. Today it is a parish church affiliated with Donskaya spiritual seminary and restored in 2018.
