Saint Cross Church

Surb Khach Church is situated on the bank of North Donets Reservoir in Rostov-on-Don. It is famous for the fact that nearby lie the graves of renowned Armenian poets Aharon Almandaryan and Raphael Patkanian. There was an Armenian seminary functioning within the monastery. The monastery was founded by Armenians resettled from Crimea. Under the church hill there flows a spring filling the Temer River whose name means "Holy Cross". The project of the temple is attributed to architect I. Stavrov.
