Staro-Pokrovsky Cathedral

The Old Покровsky Church is located on Bolshaya Sadovaya Street in Rostov-on-Don. Its history begins with a wooden church of Pokrov Presvyatoy Bogoroditsy, moved here in 1761 from Saint Anna Fortress. The current stone building of the temple was built in 2007 on the site of the previous one, destroyed in the 1930s. This place is associated with the development of the historical core of the city around the fortress of Archbishop Dmitry of Rostov.
