Staro-Pokrovsky Cathedral
Rostov-on-Don, Bolshaya Sadovaya St, 113b
The Old Pokrovskii Cathedral is situated on Bolshaya Sadovaya Street in Rostov-on-Don. Its history starts with a wooden church of Pokrov Presvyatoy Bogoroditsy, transferred here in 1761 from Saint Anna Fortress. The existing stone structure of the cathedral was constructed in 2007 at the location of its predecessor, demolished in the 1930s. This area is linked to the growth of the city's historical center around the fortress of Bishop Dimitry of Rostov.
