Holy Iversky Convent

The history of the St. Iversky Convent in Rostov-on-Don began in 1903 with the establishment of the Trinity-Alexeyevskaya women's community. The monastery is located in the bend of the Temernik River, and its revival in 1991 began in the half-ruined lower church of St. Dimitry of Rostov. Archimandrite Modest Potapov became the first abbot of the revived monastery, and on November 3, 1996, the restored upper church of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God was consecrated.
