1st Cavalry Army Tachanka-Rostovchanka Monument

The monument to the 1st Cavalry Army "Tachanka-Rostovchanka" is situated on East Highway in Rostov-on-Don. It is a sculptural group symbolizing the city's liberation from White Guards in 1920. It depicts a galloping team of four horses with a machine gun tachanka. The author's collective includes sculptors V. Batay, A. Kosolapov, A. Sknarin and architect P. Ibalkov. The monument was unveiled in 1977 and stands on a high artificial hill greeting visitors from Bataisk side.
