Rostov Oblast Museum of Regional Studies

The Rostov Regional Museum of Local Lore traces its history back to 1910. In four city buildings it presents eight major exhibitions covering the entire history and culture of the Don region. The museum's collection includes over 375,000 exhibits making it the largest in the Southern Federal District. Among the most valuable items is the hall "Treasures of the Steppe Lands" showcasing ancient gold artifacts of local peoples. The total area of the museum premises amounts to approximately 4,954 sq. m.
