Smolya Balka Memorial Complex

Memorial Complex "Zmiyevskaya Balka" is situated in Rostov-on-Don. During World War II mass executions of civilians and prisoners of war took place here. The central element is the sculpture "Victims of Execution" created under the guidance of Nikolay Avedikov and brothers Lopko. Observation deck near the entrance allows to see the entire memorial panorama. The complex was designed by architects Nikolay Nersissyan and Ruben Muradyan. Most of the victims were Jews from the city.
