Alexandrowski Church (Holy Heart of Jesus)

Alexandrovsky Cathedral, also known as the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, is situated in Kirov on Derendyayeva Street, 46. The building combines baroque, classicism and modern styles; its main facade features a portico with a triangular pediment and symmetrical bell towers. The cathedral was designed by Warsaw architect K. Voytsekhovsky and consecrated in 1903. After the closure of the parish in 1933, the building was used as an organ hall and transferred to the veterinary institute. During World War I, the church housed a Polish school and library affiliated with the temple.

Alexandrovsky Garden in the city of Kirov was opened on August 30, 1835. Located on a high bank of the Vyatka River, it is one of the oldest parks in the city. The garden is named after the heir to the throne Alexander Nikolayevich, future Emperor Alexander II. There are family and children's attractions in the park. In the XIX-XX centuries there were a summer club, cinema and chess pavilion here. In the 1990s the park fell into disrepair but later restored and included as part of the cultural heritage sites.

Alexandro-Nevsky Cathedral was located on the territory of Yuri Gagarin Park, previously known as Bread Square. The Botanical Garden of Vyatka State University is located in the center of Kirov city at Karl Marx Street, 95. It was founded during the period from 1912 to 1914 by Aleksey Andreevich Istomin. From the time of its establishment until 1923 it belonged to a private individual, after which it passed under the ownership of Vyatka Pedagogical Institute. Today, the garden serves as a place for educational activities and scientific research for students and staff of the university. The total area of the botanical garden is approximately 1.7 hectares.

Zhmakina's mansion associated with architect Alexander Vitberg who designed Aleksandro-Nevsky cathedral in Vyatka. A monument to Vitberg himself was unveiled in 2017. Architect Vitberg is also renowned for his projects including unrealised plans for Christ the Saviour church on Vorobyovy Hills and works in Alexandrovsky Garden.

Kirov State Circus is located on Oktyabrsky Prospect, 147. The building was designed by Central Institute for Amusement Facilities under architect L. Segal's supervision. The dome was installed by Kirov Branch "Volgastalkonstruktsiya". More than 50 thousand people participated in youth subbotniki during construction. After ten years of construction, it could accommodate 1600 people. There are two large panels depicting circus scenes in the lobby. The first performance called "Happy Stars" gathered 60 artists.

The monument's opening took place on October 27, 2023, coinciding with the anniversaries of factory "Leps" and the city of Kirov. The central part of the memorial is a T-34 tank with number 613 on a concrete pedestal. The right side of the pedestal depicts war-time workers, while the left side shows Soviet soldiers. This is the first memorial in the city honoring employees of defense industries. The inscription reads: "Heroic labor of machine builders who forged victory in the rear."

Theater Square is the central square of Kirov city. It features Kirov Drama Theater and the building of the regional government. Originally called Grain Square as grain and flour were traded there. In 1784 it was planned according to Vyatka's regular layout. A theater building was constructed in the 1870s. The central spot is occupied by a monument to V.I. Lenin installed in 1970. Since 1989 the square has again been named Theatrical Square.

Uspenskaya Street in Kirov is one of the oldest streets of the city. It starts at the northwestern tower of the monastery fence of Trifonov Monastery, whose name the street inherited. There are churches and ancient monastic buildings here, among which stands out the Holy-Sergius Cathedral. Walking along the street is convenient with an overview of the architectural ensemble of the monastery surrounded by historical buildings and temples.

Uspensky Cathedral of the Holy-Uspensky Trifonov Monastery is situated on Gorbacheva Street in the historical center of Kirov. The stone building was constructed in 1689 and serves as the main church of the monastery founded by Saint Tryphon of Vyatka in 1580. Here, pilgrimage services take place and guided tours of the monastery are offered. The cathedral is part of the ensemble of objects of federal cultural heritage significance and plays an important role in the architectural complex of the monastery.

Feodorovskaya Church in Kirov, situated on Gryna Avenue, 5a, dedicated to Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God, is an important element of the city's spiritual life and blends harmoniously with the architectural ensemble of old Orthodox churches of Vyatka. It is convenient to visit the church during a stroll along the riverbank, combining spirituality with pleasant views of the historical center. The church complements routes between Alexandrovsky Garden and Trifonov Monastery.
Church of the Birth of John the Baptist

Stony Church of the Birth of John the Baptist in Kirov situated on ulitsa Svobody, 54d combines elements of Vyatka architecture and baroque. Built in 1717 it is among the oldest surviving city temples. Originally the parish was formed near the old town rampart. The church is functioning with altars dedicated to the Birth of John the Baptist, Zachariah and Elizabeth as well as the Icon of Our Lady of Gruzinskaya. Construction took place during Pyotr I's ban on building stone buildings outside Saint Pyotrsburg.
