F. I. Shalyapin Monument
Киров, Московская ул., 37, сквер у Кировского областного драматического театра
The monument to Fyodor Chaliapin was solemnly opened on August 23, 2014, in the square in front of the Kirov Regional Drama Theatre. The initiative to create the monument belonged to the Vyatka Chaliapin Society, and the bronze sculpture by the People's Artist of Russia Viktor Boriskin was manufactured at the "Lit Art" enterprise with funds from the "Lukoil" company. In 2015, an audio system from the FabLab workshop of Vyatka State University was installed next to the monument, which broadcast recordings of 20 pieces performed by the singer, but by 2019 it had stopped working. The monument is dedicated to the artist who called himself a "Vyatka peasant" due to his parents' roots in the Vyatka Governorate, although he had never been to Vyatka himself.
