Spaso-Preobrazhensky Convent

Spaso-Preobrazhensky Female Monastery is situated in Kirov city on the high bank of the Vyatka River. It was founded in 1624. The stone Preobrazhenskaya Church, the main historical temple of the monastery, was built in 1696 by an artel of Khlynovsky masons. Since 2005 regular worship services have been held here due to relocation of the relics of St Victor of Glazov and Vyatka. The Church of Transfiguration is a federal level cultural heritage site.
