Alexandrowski Church (Holy Heart of Jesus)

Alexandrovsky Cathedral, also known as the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, is situated in Kirov on Derendyayeva Street, 46. The building combines baroque, classicism and modern styles; its main facade features a portico with a triangular pediment and symmetrical bell towers. The cathedral was designed by Warsaw architect K. Voytsekhovsky and consecrated in 1903. After the closure of the parish in 1933, the building was used as an organ hall and transferred to the veterinary institute. During World War I, the church housed a Polish school and library affiliated with the temple.
