Yuri A. Gagarin Park

Yuri A. Gagarin Park is situated in the city of Kirov. It was opened in 1961 and named after the first earth cosmonaut. There is an artificial lake with two levels created on the site of former Bread Square. In July 1961, a commemorative plaque with portraits of five Kirov residents who distinguished themselves during World War II was installed on the wall of the electric substation. The total area of the park is approximately 20 hectares. Previously, there stood Alexandro-Nevsky Cathedral.
