K. E. Tsiolkovsky Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics

The K. E. Tsiolkovsky Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics is situated in the house where the scientist's family lived on Preobrazhenskaya Street, 16 in the city of Kirov. It was opened in 1988 and dedicated to the life and work of Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky, his childhood and youth in Vyatka. One can see materials about the history of ballooning and aviation here, as well as exhibits related to young Tsiolkovsky's experiments with creating models of flying machines and tests involving a paper balloon filled with hydrogen.
