Monument to Kirov Residents - Home Front Workers

The monument "To Kirov Residents – Home Front Workers" is dedicated to the selfless labor of the region's residents during the Great Patriotic War and is installed in the Labor Glory Square at the intersection of Karl Marx and Profsoyuznaya streets. The location was chosen for a reason: nearby are industrial enterprises, and during the war years, the Kirov region hosted evacuated factories that supplied the front. At the center of the monument is a figure of a teenage boy extending an invisible front-line soldier a Shpagin submachine gun, which was produced at a local factory. Behind the teenager stands a relief pylon depicting images of factory workers, factory employees, and collective farm fields, while the back side of the monument contains fragments of front-line letters and newspaper publications. The monument was created through donations at the initiative of the regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society, and its author is sculptor Maria Galas from Rostov-on-Don.
