The State Historical Museum of the Southern Urals is located in Chelyabinsk at Truda Street, 100. It was founded on July 1, 1923 as a Local Landscape Museum. Today its collection includes over 50,000 archaeological findings. The main treasure of the museum is a fragment of the Chelyabinsk meteorite weighing approximately 500 kilograms. Regular exhibitions attract up to 220,000 visitors annually, along with well-known international festivals "PhotoFest" and "Debarcader". The observation deck on the roof offers picturesque views of the Miass River. The new building of the museum, built in 2006, is situated right next to the riverside promenade.

Children's Park named after V.V. Tereshkova

This place was created specifically for family recreation with children and bears the name of the first woman-astronaut Valentina Tereshkova. Aquarium House

Forest Museum

Orlyonok Monument

The "Orlyonok" monument is located in Aloe Field Square of Chelyabinsk city and is a federal significance monument. The 4-meter-high bronze sculpture was created by L.N. Golovnitsky and architect E.V. Alexandrov and installed on October 29, 1958, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Komsomol. The monument is dedicated to heroes of the October Revolution and the Civil War in the Urals.

Igor Kurchatov Monument

Igor Kurchatov Monument is located in Chelyabinsk on Science Square near Lenin Avenue and Gagarin Park. It was installed to celebrate the city's 250th anniversary in 1986. The height of two stone pylons is 27 meters; they have hemispheres symbolizing atomic fission. At night, the sculpture is illuminated by spotlights attracting young people, skateboarders, and cyclists. Igor Kurchatov, whose name the monument bears, is a prominent scientist from Chelyabinsk region who founded the Soviet nuclear project. The monument's author is famous Armenian sculptor Vardges Avakyan.

Volunteers Tankmen Monument

The monument to volunteer tankers in Chelyabinsk is located at the intersection of Kommuny and Kirova streets in the memorial complex Bulevard Slavy. It was opened in 1975 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Victory. The sculpture, 5.5 meters high, depicts a bronze volunteer standing on a tank turret with the hatch removed. The authors of the monument are sculptor Lev Golovnitsky and architect Evgeniy Alexandrov. Here, in May 1943, soldiers and commanders of the 63rd Tank Brigade received a message from the residents of the South Urals. The monument is dedicated to the heroes of the Ural Volunteer Tank Corps.

Lenin Mausoleum on Alley Field

The monument-mausoleum of V.I. Lenin is located in the southern part of Alyo Pole in Chelyabinsk. It is one of the most notable monuments to Vladimir Il'ich Lenin in Russia: a bust of the leader is installed in the niche of the mausoleum, which is designed in two levels style. The monument was created as early as 1925.

Victory Garden

The park was opened on May 9th, 1965, on the 20th anniversary of Victory Day. Located in the picturesque area of Tractor Plant District, it reminds visitors of the heroism and resilience of Chelyabinsk residents.

St. Simon Cathedral

The Cathedral of St. Simon in Chelyabinsk is located at Kyshtymskaya Street, 32. Built in 1883, it was originally a small stone cemetery church. During World War II, it remained the only functioning church among 17 Chelyabinsk churches. The cathedral is named after Saint Simon of Verkhoturye and is known for its golden domes over blue roofs. It houses icons with relics of saints Andrew the First-called, Pyotr, and Feodora. In 2018, a museum of Orthodox regional history opened in the temple. Locals call it "the blue" or "the white" cathedral.

Holy-Trinity-Church

St. Trinity Church in Chelyabinsk is located at Kirova Street, 60A. It is one of the oldest churches in the city, originally founded in 1768. Restored in the 1990s after the destruction of the Christmas Cathedral, it became the largest in Chelyabinsk. Inside the church are venerated relics: the remains of Seraphim of Sarov, Saint Trifon the Martyr, Apostle Andrew the First-called and Healer Panteleimon. The icon of Our Lady of Signs is particularly popular among parishioners, considered miraculous. The interior decoration of the church is done in Васнецовский style.

Alley Field Square

The "Alley Field" Square in Chelyabinsk is a state-protected historical site since 2000. It was named in memory of tragic events of 1905 when workers were massacred there. Previously known as Alexander Square, it served as the city's marketplace. Today, on its grounds are federal-level monuments: the "Eaglet" monument and Lenin's mausoleum built in 1925. Nearby stands the Organ Hall "Motherland".

Aq-Meshet (White Mosque)

The Cathedral Mosque "Ak-Mechet" ("White Mosque") in Chelyabinsk is a regional cultural heritage site built in 1899. The building is a single-story structure with a high four-tier minaret. The mosque is located on Yelkina Street, previously known as Asian Street, and includes annexes that include buildings for the mekteb - an elementary Muslim school. Here also take place Sunday Islamic courses and Quran studies. During the war years, it housed the museum's collections.

Manneken Theatre

The "Maneken" Theatre in Chelyabinsk is located at Kirova Street, 116. Founded as a student theatre of эстрадных миниатюр at Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute in 1966, it has carried its current name since then. With over thirty years of history and the honorary title of folk theatre, "Maneken" was recognized as a leading youth theatrical ensemble in the 1970s. In 1992, the theatre acquired the status of a municipal cultural institution.

Kirov Street

Kirova Street, also known as Kirovka or Chelyabinsk Arbat, is located in the center of Chelyabinsk. The road that used to pass here was part of the ancient Ufa Road. Now the street is completely closed to traffic and is a popular pedestrian zone. Bronze sculptures include the city mayor, traveler, master turner, saxophone player, beggar, artist. Notable monuments are "Modnitsa" reflected in the mirror and symbol of fidelity - Hachiko monument. Along the entire length there are cafes and restaurants, and street performers create festive atmosphere.

In summer there are festivals, movie screenings and exhibitions, in winter there are an ice rink and toboggan runs. Through the park passes a children's railway.

One can encounter squirrels, hares, bats and other wild animals here. The bor is a historical green space preserved from logging and plays an important ecological role in the city.

Chelyabinsk State Academic Drama Theatre named after Naum Orlov is the largest theatrical center of Southern Ural founded in 1921. Located at Revolution Square, 6 in Chelyabinsk, it bears the name of outstanding theater director Naum Orlov who headed it for many decades. The theatre's building with a capacity of 1200 people was previously called by the name of Tsvilling for over eighty years but later renamed in honor of its famous director. Various dramatic performances are regularly staged here including comedies, tragedies and children's shows.

Glinka State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Chelyabinsk

Chelyabinsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after M.I. Glinka is located on the Arts Square in Chelyabinsk. The building of the theatre, constructed in 1956 on the site of the destroyed Christmas Cathedral, has become an important architectural landmark of the city. Performances of both classical music and works by contemporary composers are held here. The first performance of the first season was the opera "Knyaz Igor" by A. Borodin. Since 1996, the theater has been awarded the title of Academic and for a long time was known as "the laboratory of Soviet opera."

Chelyabinsk State Drama Youth Theatre

Chelyabinsk State Drama Youth Theatre is located at Kirova Street, 116. The building, built in 1903, is an example of neoclassical style. Since 1982, it has belonged to the theatre, which was founded in 1965 by a decision of the regional executive committee. Initially, the theater was called the Care Committee and Popular Sobriety Theatre, but in 2011 it received its current name — Youth Theatre. Its repertoire is diverse and includes performances for both young people and adult audiences.

Chelyabinsk Regional Puppet Theatre named after V. Volkovsky is located at Kirova Street, 8. Founded in 1935 and named after prominent director Valery Volkovsky whose leadership brought the theatre to its peak in the 1970s-80s. The puppet theater is inspired by the old antique puppet Pyotrushka and is directed by Alexander Borok, a laureate of the Golden Mask award. Regularly held festival "Straw Lark" takes place here, with performances rated for ages 16+ and 18+.

Chelyabinsk Zoo

Chelyabinsk Zoo is located in the city center near Gagarin Park on a 30-hectare site. Founded in 1992, it has over 440 animals of 133 species including big cats, polar and Himalayan bears, primates, kangaroos and various bird collections. There is also an aquarium and insectarium. For visitors there are teen quests and baby animal contact zoo. On the zoo's website you can find schedules for feeding large carnivores.
