Aq-Meshet (White Mosque)

The Cathedral Mosque "Ak-Mechet" ("White Mosque") in Chelyabinsk is a regional cultural heritage site built in 1899. The building is a single-story structure with a high four-tier minaret. The mosque is located on Yelkina Street, previously known as Asian Street, and includes annexes that include buildings for the mekteb - an elementary Muslim school. Here also take place Sunday Islamic courses and Quran studies. During the war years, it housed the museum's collections.
