Ak-Mescit Mosque (White Mosque)

The Cathedral Mosque "Ak-Mechet" in Chelyabinsk is situated on Yelkina Street, 16. The building is a regional cultural heritage site and was constructed in 1899. The mosque has one floor and a four-tier minaret. Originally, there was an Islamic elementary school (mekteb) attached to it. During World War II, it housed the museum's collections. Currently, courses on Islam and reading the Quran are held here. The mosque was built on land donated by entrepreneur Zakir Galeev.
