Vakhtangov Academic Russian Theatre

The Academic Russian Theater named after E. Vakhtangov is the oldest theatrical institution in Northern Caucasus founded in 1869. It is located in the historical center of Vladikavkaz at Lenin Square, 3. Since 1996 it bears the name of outstanding Russian director Evgeniy Vakhtangov and has the status of an academic theater.

The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is located on Ossetskaya Hill in Vladikavkaz and is the oldest Orthodox church in the city. The first stone building appeared here in 1823, later, in 1861, it was replaced by a new building in classical style.
