Academic Russian Theater named after E. Vakhtangov - the oldest dramatic theater of Northern Caucasus founded in 1869. Located in the center of Vladikavkaz on Lenin Square, 3. The stage of the theater hosted performances of various genres before the revolution. In 1996 the theater was named after Evgeniy Vakhtangov and awarded the title "academic". The first performance took place on April 15, 1871 with the play "Masquerade" by M.Yu. Lermontov.

The Kosta Hetagurov House-Museum is situated in an historical two-story brick house built in 1864. It is located at Butyrina Street, 19 and Botoeva Street, 4 in Vladikavkaz. Here from 1901 to 1902 lived the famous Ossetian poet Kosta Hetagurov. The museum opened in 1979 and recreates the atmosphere of early 20th century. Exhibits include copies of the artist's paintings, his literary and archival materials. The site is part of the National Museum of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.

The building of North Ossetian State University is situated on Vatutina Street in Vladikavkaz. It is a historical landmark of the city with its main facade about 100 meters long facing this street. The building has three floors and after the merger of pedagogical institutes in 1938 it became home to natural science and geographical faculties.
Ilyinskaya Church

Ilyinskaya Church is located on Meschansky Cemetery in Vladikavkaz and is an architectural monument. Construction began in 1888 under the supervision of priest Vasily Zhukov and was completed in 1895. The church was consecrated in the same year. It is the only Orthodox parish in Vladikavkaz during the Soviet period. Ilyinskaya Church has been included in the regional historical and cultural heritage register.

The entrance is decorated with a triumphal arch. The complex is made from granite, marble, bronze and brass, the central panel is adorned with Florentine mosaic.

It is a federal cultural heritage site designed in the style of Arab architecture with elements from Cairo mosques of the X-XII centuries. Architectural design was created by architect Iosif Ploshko. The mosque serves as a symbol of the city and belongs to Sunni Islam direction.

The M.S. Tuganov Art Museum is located in Vladikavkaz at Mira Avenue, 12. It was formerly a trading construction owned by merchant B.G. Oganov, built in 1903 and representing a monument of Russian art nouveau. Founded in 1939, its collections include over 6000 works of Russian, Soviet and Ossetian painting. In May 1971, the institution received the name of artist Maharbek Tuganov. The total area of the building is 1200 sq. m.

A tram ran on the bridge already in 1904. It was manufactured in England in 1860. After building a new concrete bridge in 1958, the old one was dismantled.
