Holy Birth Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is situated on Ossetskaya Hill in Vladikavkaz. It is the oldest Orthodox church in the city, originally built in 1814 and consecrated in 1823. Later, in 1861, it was replaced with a stone building in classical style. Nearby the church there is a necropolis where notable figures from Ossetian history and culture are buried. The temple is recognized as an object of regional cultural heritage.
