Lenin Square

Lenin Square is located in the center of Vladikavkaz and named after Vladimir Illych Lenin. Previously it was known as Theatre Square due to the presence of the dramatic theatre there. After the 1957 reconstruction, the square acquired its modern appearance with a Lenin monument and Academic Russian Theatre named after Evgeniy Vakhtangov. To the west of it are streets such as Stanislavsky Alley, Cultural Alley and Theatre Alley; while to the east runs World Avenue.
