National Scientific Library of Republic of North Ossetia – Alania

The National Scientific Library of RSCO-Alania is situated at Koceva Street, 43 in Vladikavkaz. Established in 1895 as Vladikavkaz Public Library, it today houses over 1.2 million copies of various documents. Of particular value is its local studies collection comprising approximately 35 thousand items. The library was founded by Varvara Shreders and Kosta Hetsagurov. It is the first public library in the capital city of North Ossetia – Alania.
