Art Object "Globus Cherepovets"
Cherepovec, pl.Stroiteley, 1
The art object "Globe Cherepovets" is situated on Builders Square in Cherepovets. It comprises several concrete pillars and a large sphere clad with bronze plates. Its surface features the city's development plan. The installation was unveiled in 2008 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Cheremhovo Metallurgical Construction Enterprise.

Water Tower in Cherepovets city built in 1913 is an historical monument of industrial architecture of early 20th century. Today it serves as a museum of "Vodokanal" enterprise. Inside there is information and exhibition center where one can learn about history of development of Cherepovets water supply system. The upper floor once held a tank with capacity of ten thousand buckets from which clean water was supplied to the city's water supply system.

The Voskresensky Cathedral in Cherepovets is situated on Cathedral Hill. It is one of the city's oldest landmarks, constructed between 1721-1756. The church distinguishes itself amidst the industrial scenery of the city through its architectural style. The initial chapel here dates back to the XIV century due to monks and the blessings of Sergius of Radonezh. Within the cathedral, there is a gilded iconostas, while the stone floors have been restored following damage caused by improper usage.

This significant structure is a striking example of city architecture from that period and the main attraction of the town's center. Following the 2011 restoration, visitors can appreciate both the exterior of the building and the revamped interiors. Though the historic interior decoration has been lost, the house maintains its distinctive aura of the era.
Vereshchagin Museum House

Vereshchagin House-Museum is located in Cherepovets at Socialist Street, 22. It is a wooden architecture monument built in the 1830s and was the home of the Vereshchagins family for over half a century. It was here, on October 26, 1842, that famous battle painter Vasily Vasilyevich Vereshchagin was born. Today, the museum consists of two buildings where the interiors of the artist's childhood are recreated, as well as his works and reproductions are exhibited.
Nature House (Nature Museum)

Nature House in Cherepovets is located at Kommunistov Street, 42. It is one of the oldest city museums founded in 1920 under the name Local Nature Museum named after A.I. Herzen. Collections include entomological exhibits, remains of ancient animals such as mammoth and musk ox bones found during harbor construction at the mouth of Yagorba River in 1907, minerals, rocks, and herbaria. Since 2024, the exhibition has been enriched with aquariums featuring local fish species: pikes, roach, perch, trout, and sturgeon.

Historical and Ethnographic Museum "Galsky Mansion" is located in Cherepovets on the banks of the Sheksna River. It is an architectural monument of the 19th century opened in 2009 after years of restoration. The house features interiors of 37 rooms depicting the life of the nobility at that time, as well as authentic furniture and antiques. Surrounding buildings include a harness workshop, oil mill, round garden, stables, granaries and workers' cottages. Notably, there is a two-story granary with a unique two-level gallery. Regularly held cultural events include musical and poetic evenings.

Construction began in 2006; it became the main cathedrals church of Cherepovets diocese and place of worship founded in the same year under blessing of archbishop Maximilian. During World War II, this location hosted a prisoner-of-war camp.

I.A. Milutin Monument stands in the center of Milutina Square between Lenin Street and Soviet Avenue in Cherepovets. Adjacent are the Camero Theatre, Art Museum, and former Mariinskaya Girls' Gymnasium now called the Marriage Palace. Milutin ruled the city for over forty years during which Cherepovets grew into an important cultural, educational, and industrial hub of Russia.
Nurse Monument

A monument to a nurse is installed in the Pervokazalnyy Square of Cherepovets city. It is dedicated to the heroic role of nurses during World War II when Cherepovets became a huge hospital that received over 2.5 million wounded soldiers and residents of besieged Leningrad. The monument's author is sculptor A. Rozhnikov. The concept of the monument depicts a nurse as an angel-guardian leading people from the world of war into the world of compassion. The monument was opened in 2015 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Victory, symbolizing the feat of doctors and nurses who went to the front from Cherepovets railway station on the famous "Mercy Train".

In Cherepovets, on Metallurgov Square, there is a monument called " Continuity Generation ". The central composition features a bronze figure of a metallurgist and his small son wearing his father's helmet. Tourists often shake hands with the depicted metallurgist. The monument symbolizes the continuity of generations in heavy industry and was opened to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Severstal plant. Nearby stands a stele with commemorative inscriptions.

The monument to Sts. Afanasiy and Feodosy of Cherepovets is located in Cherepovets on Sobornaya Hill near the Assumption Cathedral. The composition consists of two four-meter bronze statues of saints created by sculptor Aleksey Arkhipov from Saint Pyotrsburg. Afanasiy is depicted with raised hands in monastic attire while Feodosy points to a hill where he had a vision. The monument was unveiled in October 1992 at the foundry of OJSC "Severstal". The saints founded the Assumption Monastery which later became the nucleus of the city of Cherepovets.

The 200th Anniversary Park of Cherepovets is located in Cherepovets city on Ledneva Street. It was founded in 1977 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the city's founding by Catherine II in 1777. In the center of the park there is a circular square with paving and comfortable benches. Here regularly take place city events and actions. For children there are attractions, as well as the possibility to ride electric cars and bicycles. The park is especially popular among residents of Zashcheksninsky district.

Lenin Komsomola Park in Cherepovets is located on Maxim Gorky Street. In spring it is decorated with blooming apples from villages Maloe Yagano and in autumn it delights with golden leaves of maples, ash-trees and rowans from Abakanovo village surroundings. For creating the park plants were used from a farm near river Mjaks where there grew hazel bushes, hawthorns and lilacs. Construction started in 1958 by initiative of Cherepovets city council considering experience of Moscow and Leningrad parks.

Founded in the XIX century by Ivan Andreyevich Milutin, mayor of the city, initially called "Milutinsky Square", later named "Salt Garden". The park preserves fragments of the general plan of 1874, reflecting its original layout. Today there are attractions and art object "I Love Cherepovets" here.

Children's and Youth Theatre in Cherepovets opened in 1993 and is located at Prospekt Pobedy, 100. It shows performances for toddlers, schoolchildren and youth from daily sessions at 10:00 and 14:00 to evenings at 18:00 and 19:00. The theatre operates from Wednesday to Sunday. It is known for hosting the festival "Krohatnye Skazki" and is part of the all-Russian touring-concert plan.

Christ's Birth Church

Christ's Nativity Church in Cherepovets is located on Park Avenue. It is one of the few restored churches in the city, rebuilt in 1997 after a fire in 1989 completely destroyed the original temple. Originally built in 1789 with funds from landowner N.D. Panfilov and parishioners, it lost its original appearance during Soviet times when decorative elements of the facade were destroyed and the bell tower was dismantled. The church was closed in 1930 and finally destroyed half a century later.

The Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Life-giving Spring" is located in Cherepovets on Lenin Street, building 1A. It was built at the end of the 19th century with funds from the Voskresenskiy cathedral and voluntary donations from believers. The distinctive feature of this stone construction is a cruciform shape and an unusual orientation to the cardinal points, which distinguishes it from traditional church architecture. The place where the church stands previously housed a small wooden structure of the same name from the 18th century.

Philip Irapsky Chapel is located on Sovetsky Prospect in Cherepovets. Built in 1874 near Krasnoborsk Holy Trinity Monastery, it belongs to the once existing Philip Irapsky Desert. After being restored after a fire in the 1990s, the chapel returned to its historical appearance. Inside are the relics of Saint Philip Irapsky. The building was previously used for other purposes and underwent significant renovations during the Soviet period.

Chamber Theater in Cherepovets is located on Sovetskaya Square. The building, built at the beginning of the 20th century, combines the functions of a cultural institution and an architectural monument. The theater opened in 1993, but its history dates back to the 1860s when a musical-dramatic circle operated within the Public Assembly. Inside the theater - luxurious hall with 438 seats, crystal chandelier and dark-cherry velvet curtains, as well as there are permanent actors and youth theatrical studio.

Cherepovetsky Art Museum is located on Sovetskaya Street in the historical center of Cherepovets. Its collection of Russian painting was gathered since the 1920s from funds of Moscow and St. Pyotrsburg museums. Special value are icons, ancient embroidery, rare books and church utensils of the Vologda region. Regular exhibitions of contemporary art also take place here. Visitors can make a virtual tour of the exhibits.
