Voskresenskiy Cathedral

Voskresensky Cathedral in Vologda is situated on Kremlevskaya Square. It was built between 1772 and 1776 and is a federal monument within the ensemble of Vologda Kremlin. In 1938 the cathedral was closed, and since 1954 it housed an exhibition hall for the regional art gallery. The first church service after returning the cathedral to the Russian Orthodox Church took place on December 4, 2016. The upper temple was consecrated on October 4, 2020 following restoration, while the lower temple was consecrated on October 30, 2022.
