VSP-312 Museum Car

The "VSP-312" museum car is situated on the premises of Vologda Car Repair Plant. It is a historical exhibit representing a prototype carriage from Vera Panova's novel "Sputniki". Inside there are recreated compartments for the train conductor and headquarters office. During World War II, VSP-311 transported over 25,000 wounded patients during 53 trips starting from its first outing on June 26th, 1941. A distinctive feature of this train was a steam bath carriage and growing greenery on the roof.
