Pokrov Church of the Holy Mother on Trade Square

The Stone Church of Pokrova Preobrazheniya Bogoroditsy on Trade Square in Vologda was built in 1778-1780. The temple was twice restored after fires: first after the fire of 1605 under the name Ioakim and Anna near the State Porch, second - after the fire of 1679 under the protection of the Mother of God. Since 1832 it served as a summer church for the parish. Closed in the mid-1920s and transferred to the provincial archive, but now it operates again within the Vologda Metropolitan Diocese.
