Spaso-Prilutsky Monastery

Spaso-Prilutsky Monastery in Vologda is one of Russia's oldest northern monasteries, founded in the 1380s by Saint Dmitry Prilutski. Already in the 15th century it became famous due to the holiness of its founder. In the 16th century stone buildings were erected here, and fortress walls with towers appeared in the mid-17th century. After a long break, the monastery reopened in 1991.
