800th Anniversary Obelisk of Vologda

The Obelisk of the 800th Anniversary of Vologda stands on the high right bank of the River Vologda near Burmagin and Udarnikov streets. The monument was installed in 1959 on the site where the demolished Voskresenskaya church used to be. The authors of the memorial are Vologda sculptors Gennadiy and Tekusa Kontartary, while the reliefs were made at the Leningrad factory "Monumentsculpture".
