Gatehouse Avduyenskaya Church with Holy Gates

The Gate Church of Vozdvizhenie is situated in Vologda on Sergey Orlov Street, 15. The building is part of the Archiepiscopal Courtyard and features Holy Gates with two arched openings. Originally, the gates had machicolations and were crowned with three shatrov-shaped domes. It was constructed in 1692 and consecrated in honor of the Exaltation of the Cross. Previously it housed the Diocese Antique Depository collecting church items and historical materials about the region. Currently, its restoration is underway.
