Saint Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

The Saint Faithful Prince Alexander Nevsky Church in Vologda is an architectural monument of the 18th century. The building, constructed in the second half of the century, originally dedicated to St. Nikolay the Wonderworker. In 1869 the church was renamed in honor of Alexander Nevsky. Dedication of the main altar took place on December 6, 1997. After restoration services began on November 20 of the same year. Currently, the church belongs to the Vologda diocese.
