Semenkov Architectural Ethnographic Museum

Vologodsky District, d. Semenkovo

Architectural and Ethnographic Museum "Semenkovo" is situated in Vologda District near River Vologda. Founded in 1979, it occupies an area of 13 hectares. It features reconstructions of Russian wooden architecture from the 19th to 20th centuries: an old chapel, church, barns, bathhouses, mills, and ice houses. The exhibition introduces visitors to traditional life and crafts of the Vologda land such as lacemaking, carving, and painting on wood. The museum includes one peasant farmstead and twelve homes, making it a federal-level historical and cultural heritage site.
