St. Nicholas Church on Glinki

The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker on Glinki in Vologda is a two-story church, the name of which was established in the 18th century due to large piles of clay left after the construction of the moat of the Vologda Kremlin. After its closure on December 7, 1929, the building was used to house dispossessed peasants, then as a dormitory, and from 1933 it was converted into a bathhouse. After the Great Patriotic War, the former church housed warehouses and workshops. Previously, this area was called the Rassylshchichy Sloboda, and the reason for the church's closure was the organization of the Pioneer House for the children of railway workers.
