Volgograd Regional Museum of Local Lore is one of the oldest regional museums, founded in 1914. Located in two buildings-architectural landmarks from the late XIX century: the former Tsaritsyn District Administration and the Volga-Kama Commercial Bank, it attracts more than 130,000 visitors annually. Exhibits on display include unique collections such as ancient weaponry and Sarmatian gold. Its total collection consists of over 143,000 items, with approximately 111,000 pieces forming its core collection. The museum offers guided walking tours that include visits to the fire lookout tower.
