Volgograd Regional Museum of Local Lore

Volgograd Regional Museum of Local Lore is situated at V.I. Lenin Avenue, 5a. Founded in 1915, it initially operated from the House of Science and Art. After the war, it resumed activities in the former forestry technical school with a collection featuring archaeological finds such as Sarmatian gold. The collection comprises over 160,000 items. Exhibitions depict the history of Tsaritsyn, Stalingrad and modern Volgograd; however, during the Battle of Stalingrad, a significant portion of the funds was lost.
