Volgograd Musical Theatre

Volgograd Musical Theatre is situated on Marshal Chuykov Street near the Volga River. It traces its history back to 1931 when it was founded as Stalingrad's Musical Comedy Theatre. Operas, operettas, musical comedies and musicals are performed there. Its first show took place in 1932 with an operetta "Khlopka" by Nikolay Strelnikov. After World War II, the theatre resumed operations in reborn Stalingrad. Today, the ensemble includes vocalists, choir, ballet and orchestra.
