River Station

Volgograd River Station is located on 62nd Army Embankment and serves as the central building of the city’s embankment. It was opened on June 30, 1980 after years of construction that began in 1967. This is the largest structure of its kind in Europe with a width of 36 meters, height of 47 meters and length of 296 meters. There are a passenger river port and concert hall of Volgograd Philharmonic here. Architecturally, the station stands out as the main dominating feature of the embankment.
