Volgograd, Nizhni posyelok zavoda «Barrikady»

Memorial complex "Ostrov Lyudnikova" is situated in Volgograd and is a regional cultural heritage site. It includes ruins of the director's house of the Barrikady factory which served as a command post during the advance of the 138th Red Banner Rifle Division led by Colonel Ivan Lyudnikov. Also within the complex are brotherly graves of soldiers and workers-volunteers who died while liberating the city from Nazi troops in December 1942. This area symbolizes the bravery of Soviet soldiers who managed to break through the southern blockade and free the city.
