Mamayev Kurgan

Mamaev Kurgan is a memorial complex in Volgograd dedicated to the heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad. It features a Hall of Military Glory with an Eternal Flame, ruins of walls, and the famous sculpture "Stand Firm" by E.V. Vuchitchev. From the base to the top there is a staircase of 200 steps symbolizing the days of battle. The area of the complex is 26 hectares, its central figure is the monument "Mother-Russia Calls!", which underwent reconstruction in 2019. The memorial was opened on October 15, 1967.
