Holy John the Baptist Church

St. John the Baptist Church in Volgograd is located at Central Embankment, Krasnoznamenskaya St., 2. It is one of the oldest stone buildings in the city, originally built in 1664. After the fire of the first construction in 1615, the church was restored and later destroyed during World War II when its basement was used as a enemy bunker. Restored in 1995, it now serves as a convent of the Holy Resurrection Female Monastery.
