Children's Circle Fountain ("Barmaley")

On Volgograd's Arrival Terminal Square stands a modern replica of the famous destroyed fountain, known worldwide due to a military photograph from 1942. The opening of the replica took place on August 23, 2013, in honor of the anniversary of the bombing of Stalingrad. Artist Alexander Burganov brought to life the composition under its official title "Children's Circle Dance," but it is more commonly referred to as "Barmaley" because of the story by Kornei Chukovsky where children dance around crocodile Barmaley.
