House of Pavlov

Волгоград, ул. Советская, 39

The Pavlov House located on Sovetskaya Street in Volgograd became a symbol of courage of Soviet soldiers during World War II. From September to November 1942, a group of soldiers led by Sergeant Yakov Pavlych Pavlov defended the house for 58 days against superior enemy forces. After the war, the building was restored and made habitable. A memorial wall commemorating the heroic feat of defenders is installed at the house. It is situated near the Panorama Museum "Stalingrad Battle" and Gerhardt's mill.
