Monument to Metallurgist Soldiers Who Died in the Great Patriotic War

The Monument to Metallurgist Soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War is located in Izhevsk near the eastern entrance of JSC "Izhmashstal" and was opened on May 4, 1967. A tall obelisk made of dark red granite is crowned with an image of the Order of Victory and wrapped with a St. George ribbon, and it bears the inscription: "1941–1945. To Metallurgist Soldiers who fell in battles for the Motherland — Eternal Glory!" At the base of the monument, a casket containing plates engraved with the names of all fallen metallurgist soldiers is immured. In May 1970, the Eternal Flame was lit at the monument, and the memorial itself has the status of a cultural heritage site of regional significance.
