Pelmeny Monument

In the central part of Izhevsk, near cafe "Pozim" on Kraya Street, stands a pelmen monument — a three-meter-high composition depicting a giant pel'men on a fork with a diameter of one meter. The sculpture was created by artist Aleksey Shklyaev and installed at the site of an old pel'men restaurant opened in 1987. The name "pel'njan" in Udmurt means "bread ear." The opening of the monument took place on October 28, 2004.
