Nikonov Monument

At the Khokhrjakovo Cemetery in Izhevsk there is a monument to outstanding gunmaker Gennadiy Nikolaevich Nikonov. He dedicated his career to the Izhevsk Machine Building Plant and developed numerous types of sports, combat and hunting weapons. Under his leadership the well-known automatic rifle AN-94 "Abakan" was created, distinguished by high shooting efficiency. The monument is part of the tradition of immortalizing izhevsk gun designers and commemorates more than half a century of creative activity by Nikonov, including about 50 author's certificates and patents.
