Russian Drama State Theatre of Udmurtia

The State Russian Drama Theatre of Udmurtia is situated on Maxim Gorky Street in Izhevsk. It was founded on September 1, 1935 after a decision to establish it was made on June 11 of the same year. The first performance took place on October 18, 1935 and was titled "Aristokraty". Nearby, there is a monument called "Triumph of Victory" featuring sculptures of a worker and soldier, erected in 1948. Among its early productions were plays such as "Maskarade", "Three Sisters", "Dead Souls" and "Irkutsk History".
