State National Theatre of Udmurt Republic

The State National Theatre of the Udmurt Republic is situated in Izhevsk on Maxim Gorky Street, 73. Founded in 1923 as Central Udmurt Club "Krasny Udmurt" it became Udmurtia's first professional theatre in 1931. Today it serves as the region's principal national musical-dramatic theater presenting shows in the Udmurt language while serving smaller towns and settlements within Udmurtia and neighboring regions. It combines classics with contemporary productions.
