Main Building of Arms Factory

Main building of Izhevsk arms factory — an architectural monument of the 19th century built from 1808 to 1815 according to Semen Dudin's project. It is one of the city's landmark buildings recognized as a federal value object. In 1834, a fire damaged the central part of the building which was subsequently restored with new wooden structures crowned by a double-headed eagle on top of the tower commemorating victory over Napoleon. The opening of the gunmaking office on the Izh River took place on June 10, 1807, marking the founding day of the factory.
