Zilantov Assumption Monastery

Uspensky Monastery is situated on Zilantova Hill in Kazan. It is an architectural complex occupying a rectangular area about 1 hectare surrounded by strong brick walls with round towers. The central structure is Uspensky Cathedral, around which there are buildings from different eras: wooden cells (built in 1894; трапезная with stairs to the second floor and Church of All Saints (constructed in 1681)). Access to the monastery was through southern Holy Gates with a bell tower.
