Tatar State Puppet Theatre "Ekiyat"

Tatar State Puppet Theatre "Ekiyat" is situated in Kazan on Pyotrsburgskaya Street, 57. Founded in 1932, it used to be housed in an ex-church until 2012 when it moved to a newly built facility featuring two halls: a large one with 250 seats and another with 100 seats. Since 1974, it has been part of the International Union of Puppet Theatres UNIMA. The name "Ekiyat" means "fairy tale" in Tatar language.
