Sultanovskaya Mosque

Казань, улица Габдуллы Тукая, 14

Sultanovskaya Mosque in Kazan is situated on Gabdulla Tyurayev Street, 14. It is a single-story building with a single hall and an aboveground minaret designed in a strict style without excessive decorations. The minaret features a three-tiered structure capped by an elegant conical dome. Following the dissolution of the USSR, reconstruction took place: the old minaret was dismantled and a new one was built according to architect N.H. Khalitov's design in 1990. Access to the mosque is through a small passage beneath the minaret. Previously known as Jiganshi Mosque and the 8th Cathedral.
