Kazan Cathedral

Cathedral of Kazan Icon of the Mother of God - a five-domed four-column strict classicism temple, located on the territory of Kazan's Bogoroditsky female monastery. After a fire during Pugachev's uprising in 1774 it was restored and re-consecrated by patriarch Kirill. The church is decorated with paintings and icons from the workshop of Pahomov and company "Domostroy". Construction was supported by metropolitan Feofan and state councilor M.S. Shaimov.
