Saint-Pyotrsburg Cathedral

The Pyotr and Paul Cathedral in Kazan is an important spiritual symbol of the city. It is located on Musa Jalil Street and was built in the style of Russian baroque. The temple was founded after Pyotr I's visit in 1722 and first consecrated in 1726. After reconstruction in 1888-1890, architect Mikhail Litvinov gave the cathedral its current appearance. Before returning to the church in 1989, it housed a planetarium.
