Millennium Park

Millennium Park in Kazan - green area opened in 2005 to celebrate the city's millennium. In the center of the park there is a round fountain with a diameter of 36 meters featuring a cauldron-kazan supported by mythical creatures-zilants. There is also a monument to the great poet and philosopher Kul Galiy. Along the perimeter of the park along the alleys grow trees and flowers including birches, oaks, chestnuts, limes, rowans and pines. A distinctive feature of the park are metal fences at entrances decorated with zilant figures.
